The Chalkoun Tetrapylon, a big four-sided arch with a steep pyramidal roof, stood on the north side of the main street between the fora of Constantine and of Theodosios. It was covered with bronze reliefs and had a weather-vane on top of it in the shape of a winged victory goddess. Because of this weather-vane it was later also called Anemodoulion, the "servant of the winds". According to the sources it was erected in the time of Theodosius I (379-395), and was destroyed by the crusaders in 1204.
